2023 ALAMOS CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Flavors: Black Cherry, Clove, Black Pepper, Blackberry

Tasting Notes: Our 2023 Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of black cherry, brown sugar and black olive. The palate offers a silky, rounded mouthfeel brimming with juicy notes of black cherry and blackberry with accents of clove and black pepper. Supple tannins lead to a long, lingering finish with subtle notes of blackberry.

Acclaim: 90 Points, James Suckling. March 2024
"A fruity cabernet sauvignon showing coffee, dark cherry and berry fruit aromas. Juicy, soft and medium-bodied with light tannins and a smooth, juicy finish. Medium length. Drink now."

Viticulture Notes:
Although the 2023 growing season in Mendoza experienced frost events that led to lower yields, the vines rebounded and developed optimal flavor concentration. Harvest occurred earlier than expected, producing Malbec grapes with deep color and excellent aging potential.

Winemaking Notes:
The grapes for our Cabernet Sauvignon were hand harvested, de-stemmed and crushed. The must was then chilled and cold soaked for 72 hours before yeast was added. Fermentation took place in upright, conical tanks for at 85°F for 6-8 days and skin contact with the juice lasted 18-20 days. We fermented and aged the juice on skins for 6-9 months at a maximum temperature of 85˚F. The entire blend underwent malolactic fermentation, adding complexity to the finished wine.
